On August 18, 2009 RHDC voted to recommend six properties to City Council for designation as Raleigh Historic Landmarks. Properties include:

• Bill and Betty Weber House, 606 Transylvania Avenue 
• Dr. M.T. Pope House, 511 South Wilmington Street 
• Paul and Ellen Welles House, 3227 Birnamwood Road 
• St. James AME Church, 520 Method Road 
• Truman and Annie Laurie Williams House, 910 Harvey Street
• Lemuel and Julia Delany House, 210 and 212 North State Street.

On August 4, 2009 City Council and RHDC held a joint public hearing to accept public comment on the designation of these properties. City Council referred the matter to RHDC to consider final recommendations to the City Council. The Council may adopt the historic designations at its September 1st meeting.
